Just build with AI, please

Welcome to AI iOS App Builders - a weekly newsletter sharing tips, guides, and solutions to help you build iOS apps with no coding experience. Our goal is to make you take the leap and start building and market apps yourself!

THIS WEEK’S STORY

Learn AI or get left behind

This past week, it hit me harder than ever—AI isn’t just changing our lives; it’s completely rewriting the rules. And the only way to stay ahead is to embrace it, learn it, and leverage it.

The cost of building software with AI is plummeting to near zero. Those who understand how to harness these tools to build fast will leave everyone else in the dust.

If you’re in a corporate job—or looking for your next move—the best thing you can do right now is become a generalist with AI superpowers. That means knowing how to code with AI, having an eye for UI/UX, developing a strong product sense, understanding the market, and talking to users.

Your goal? Be a mini-CEO inside your company. Do everything—and let AI amplify your abilities. That’s how you become irreplaceable.

Here’s the crazy part: 90% of people don’t even grasp AI’s true potential. And out of the few who do, most still have no idea how to build with it.

This is like the late ‘90s when websites were just becoming a thing. If you start building with AI now, you’re still early.

You can literally clone a full SaaS in minutes, put your own spin on it, and sell it through organic social. Or come up with a great mobile app idea and turn it into real revenue.

This window of opportunity won’t last forever. The question is—are you in?

THIS WEEK’S TIP

Cursor + Sonnet 3.7 to build Apps

For the past 10 days, I’ve been testing Anthropic’s newest Sonnet 3.7 on CursorAI—and I have to say, I’m blown away.

I needed to make some heavy UI updates to my app, so I put Sonnet 3.7 to work. The result? I got to my final version way faster, with fewer prompts, than I ever could with Sonnet 3.5.

But here’s the catch: this model is so intelligent that it tries to “fix” other parts of your code, even when you didn’t ask it to. It doesn’t just follow instructions—it optimizes. That’s great in some cases, but if you’re not careful, it can lead to unexpected changes.

My Tip:

With Sonnet 3.7, you need to give super-specific constraints and clear system instructions—even more than with previous models. Otherwise, it might start improving things you didn’t want it to touch.

Here are the exact system instructions I use in CursorAI:

- Never modify files without my explicit consent.
- When working on a particular feature, code change, file, component, etc.. always make sure that you work on that part and that part only.
- Do not make any other changes to the UI/UX, app logic, navigation, flows, or backend functionalities other than the one in question, if I don't explicitly tell you to do so.
- Do not duplicate any files nor functionalities when working on new features and implementations.
- If you have any doubts about a specific code change or implementation, ask me first for clarification
- If I give you errors to solve, use chain of thought reasoning to identify the root cause if the error/issue and then fix it properly

Here are also some great instructions to try out:
