How to find a killer app idea 🔥

Plus the new single-player founder mode

Welcome to AI iOS App Builders - a weekly newsletter sharing tips, guides, and solutions to help you build iOS apps with no coding experience. Our goal is to make you take the leap and start building and market apps yourself!

THIS WEEK’S STORY

Just start building your app 🚀

Every week, building mobile apps gets easier. New low-code tools are emerging, AI is becoming more powerful, and the barriers to launching an app are shrinking fast.

And the best part? You don’t need a huge budget to launch and market your app. In fact, you can do it for free using organic social. TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter are your best friends here. If you’re consistent and hit a viral moment, your app can blow up overnight.

You don’t need a team. You don’t need to be on camera. AI avatars, faceless content, and micro UGC creators can do the heavy lifting. Or you can simply talk about your app yourself. Just look at these numbers:

“But Filippo, I don’t have time to build an app.”

It’s not that you don’t have time—you’re just not prioritizing it. You can do this as a side project. You just need:

✅ A killer app idea (click here to learn how to find one)
✅ The right setup & structure
✅ AI-powered coding (you won’t write a single line yourself!)

The opportunity right now is massive—and one viral video could change your life.

You don’t have to be a seasoned developer to build an app anymore. You just need an idea and let Ai handle the rest.

So, what are you waiting for? Start ideating now

THIS WEEK’S TIP

This week, we’re focusing on how to find and validate an app idea before you start building. The goal? Identify a validated problem that’s worth solving.

A great app starts with a great idea—but instead of randomly brainstorming, I take a structured approach:

1. Hunt for unmet needs on Reddit (GummySearch)

Reddit is a goldmine for hidden pain points, but manually searching through endless threads? Painful.

Instead, use GummySearch, an AI-powered tool that scans relevant subreddits for common frustrations, feature requests, and gaps in existing solutions.

💡 Pro tip: Look for problems that come up over and over again. Those are your golden opportunities.

2. Identify a problem you personally experience

Ever thought, "Why isn't there an app for this?" That’s a strong signal.

But before jumping in, ask yourself:
✅ Is it a painkiller (solves a real problem) or just a vitamin (nice to have)?
✅ Are people actively searching for solutions to this problem?

A real painkiller app makes users think, “I NEED this.”—not just “Oh, that’s cool.”

3. Research competitors with Perplexity AI

Use Perplexity + Deep Research Mode to quickly analyze:
🔍 Who else is solving this problem?
🔍 What features are they missing?
🔍 Where are the biggest demand-supply gaps?
🔍 How can you make your version 10x better?

A little market research here can save you months of building the wrong thing.

4. Pre-validate the idea

You don’t need to build a full app to see if people will pay.

Try this:
✅ Post about the idea in online communities and gauge responses.
✅ Run simple ads to a landing page with an email capture form.
✅ See if people are already spending money on similar solutions.

Follow the money. If no one is willing to pay, it’s a red flag.

5. Score & shortlist your best ideas

After a week of idea hunting, create a simple scorecard to rank them based on:
📈 Market size – Is it niche, or does it have serious scale potential?
🛠 Complexity – Can AI & no-code tools handle it, or does it require heavy dev work?
💰 Monetization – Can you easily charge for it (subscription, marketplace, etc.)?

Once you pick a winner, mock it up with wireframes (use v0 + Dribbble) and get coding with AI.
