Build a Life That Builds Back

Build fast, live free, and don’t get lost in the AI bubble.

THIS WEEK’S STORY

The Real Work Life Balance for Builders

I used to think work life balance meant logging off at six and pretending not to think about work until the next morning. But that version of balance never really worked for me.

When you love what you build, your brain doesn’t care about time zones or weekends. Ideas show up in the shower, on a walk, during dinner. Trying to shut them off feels unnatural.

Now I see balance differently. It’s not about strict routines or perfect calendars. It’s about rhythm.

Some weeks I work twelve hours a day because I’m in flow. I’ll skip dinners, ignore messages, and just build. Other weeks I play tennis in the middle of the day, go for long walks, or disappear for a few days to reset. Both are part of the same equation.

The goal isn’t to separate work and life. It’s to make them fit together.

When your business (or job) wraps around your life, everything changes. You stop feeling guilty for resting, and you stop glorifying exhaustion. You start optimizing for energy, creativity, and joy.

That’s the kind of freedom I’m after.

Not the version where you escape work. The version where you design work that feels like life.

Where you can go off-grid for a week and come back more inspired than ever. Where the success you’re building also gives you time to enjoy the people and places you love.

The work life balance everyone talks about isn’t something you find. It’s something you build.

Am I the only one that thinks this? Curious to know 😉

The $10T AI Bubble Circular Loop

Top AI companies are trading money, GPUs, and cloud credits in circles, driving valuations that exist mostly within their own ecosystem.

Look at the chart above. Nvidia invests billions in OpenAI; OpenAI spends billions on Nvidia chips. Oracle hosts OpenAI’s data and spends billions on Nvidia too. Microsoft, meanwhile, powers the whole loop through Azure and cash injections.

On paper, it looks like massive growth. In reality, it’s a giant feedback loop.

Every transaction pumps the same few balance sheets. The money never really leaves the system; it just circulates faster.

This doesn’t mean AI progress isn’t real, it’s just that the financial side is starting to look more like musical chairs than innovation. And when the music stops, someone will be holding a lot of empty GPUs.

THIS WEEK’S TIP

Use Cursor 2.0 Like a PRO

I’ve been testing more and more Cursor 2.0 and it’s wild how much faster and smoother it makes the whole building process.

The new Composer1 model is a big deal — a proprietary AI built for speed and precision. It’s up to four times faster than other coding models and feels like pair-programming with an engineer who already knows your repo.

But what really changes the game is how multi-agent orchestration works. You can now spin up multiple AI agents in parallel on the same project, review their outputs, and choose the best one. It’s like having a small dev team working alongside you in real time.

Here’s how to get the most out of it:

1. Spin up multiple agents.
Toggle the “agents” mode and assign each agent to a separate task. Use separate agents for separate features, and when the context gets too big, start a new one. You can even have each agent output 1–4 responses with different models — compare, mix, and choose the best result. It’s incredibly powerful.

2. Pick the right model for the job.
Use GPT-5 Codex for complex backend implementations, Sonnet 4.5 for frontend work, and Composer1 for quick UI or UX edits. This combo gives you speed where you need it and precision where it matters.

3. Version like a pro.
Always commit and push stable versions of your code to GitHub through the built-in version control tab in Cursor. Create separate branches for backend, frontend, and individual features. It keeps your repo clean and saves you from chaos when you need to roll back or merge.

Cursor 2.0 isn’t just an upgrade; it’s a new way to build. Once you dial in your setup, you’ll realize how close “AI-assisted development” is to “building at the speed of thought.”
